apocalyptic

we didnt know each others names.

we sat in silence, inches apart;

the moment frozen so still all we could hear was each others breath.

we took photos that made the sky light up,

that made everything look, like it was burning...

an ode to the departed

once you were there, once you possessed me.

but then you lied and now i resent thee.

then i found, and moved, along;

glad to have left, glad to belong.

metamorphose

we were on that cliff, it was nighttime, cold.

your arm around my shoulder, your whisper in my ear.

you told me we were like the stars, nothing could change us.

but when i woke, it was day and there were no stars, to be seen.

i went everywhere while you slept.

you didnt even notice, you didnt feel the space, you didnt feel the cold.

i ran and ran, up the mountainside

dodging oreads and muses as i cried, and cried.

i wasnt inspirational yet i didnt want to fall

so i found sweet echo, and gave her back her call.

the wind changed her whisper and back down i fled

but nearby, at the river, dear narcissus he bled...

deluge

each morning each night i shower in steam

piping hot water to make me clean.

i scrub at my body, i gouge my eyes

desperate to rid this ghastly disguise.
