deluge

each morning each night i shower in steam
piping hot water to make me clean.
i scrub at my body, i gouge my eyes
desperate to rid this ghastly disguise.

In truth, we all are plagued by a suppressed insecurity...and often we long to not be who we are. This is such a difficult and profound philosophy, you express it so beautifully and acutely with your words and images.
